Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Indonesian Education and Learning (JOIN) upholds the principles of academic integrity and strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. All submissions to JOIN are subject to plagiarism screening to ensure the originality and quality of the published work.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s words, ideas, or work without proper acknowledgment or citation, whether intentional or unintentional. This includes:

  1. Copying text, figures, or data without proper citation.
  2. Paraphrasing substantial portions of someone else's work without acknowledgment.
  3. Submitting a manuscript that has already been published elsewhere.

Plagiarism Screening

  • All manuscripts submitted to JOIN are checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software.
  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% (excluding references) will be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected outright, depending on the severity of the issue.

Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process:

  1. Before Publication:
    • The manuscript will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent of plagiarism.
    • Authors may be required to provide clarifications or rewrite the affected sections.
  2. After Publication:
    • The article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.
    • Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be banned from submitting to JOIN for a specified period.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure the originality of their work and provide proper citations for all sources.
  • Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for plagiarism using reliable tools before submission.
