Archiving Policy
The Journal of Indonesian Education and Learning (JOIN) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published articles. The journal adopts an archiving policy to safeguard the integrity and longevity of its content, making it available for future access and scholarly use.
Digital Archiving
JOIN’s published articles are archived in a trusted, secure, and accessible manner to ensure long-term preservation. The journal employs the following strategies:
- Repository Inclusion: All published articles are stored in digital repositories and archives, ensuring permanent availability.
- DOI Assignment: Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which provides a permanent link to the article, making it easy for researchers and institutions to locate and cite the work.
- Backup: Articles are regularly backed up to ensure that they are not lost and can be restored in case of data loss or system failure.
Third-Party Archiving
In addition to its own archiving system, JOIN participates in third-party digital archiving services, including:
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): This system provides decentralized archiving and preservation of digital content, ensuring its availability in case of website or server failures.
- Internet Archive: JOIN articles are also archived in the Internet Archive, providing public access to research and preserving scholarly works for future generations.
Self-Archiving
Authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit the final accepted version of their articles in institutional repositories or personal websites, in compliance with the journal’s copyright and licensing policies. JOIN follows an open-access model and does not impose restrictions on self-archiving.
Permanent Accessibility
All content published in JOIN is openly accessible to readers, and the journal is committed to maintaining the free availability of its archives. Articles will be kept online indefinitely, accessible through the journal’s website and other repositories where the content is stored.
Retention Period
JOIN retains all published articles permanently. In case the journal ceases publication, articles will remain accessible through participating repositories and third-party archives.
Preservation of Research Data
Where applicable, authors are encouraged to share underlying research data with their published articles. Data repositories may be used to facilitate the open sharing of data while ensuring compliance with copyright and data privacy laws.
