Abstract

This research is motivated by the low creative writing skills of Grade V students at SDN 2 Sokayasa, particularly in producing children's stories that meet intrinsic elements and proper linguistic standards. The Pena Cilik Program was established as a creative literacy program designed to guide students progressively from finding ideas to publishing their works. The main objective of this research is to describe the implementation of the Pena Cilik Program in strengthening children's story writing literacy among Grade V students at SDN 2 Sokayasa, encompassing planning, execution, and evaluation stages. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation encompasses three main stages. The planning stage was carried out collaboratively between the school principal and the Grade V teacher as a continuation of the D'gerbangku literacy program, with progressively tiered targets across six sessions. The execution stage followed the five phases of the process writing approach (pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing), supported by scaffolding through guiding questions and dialogic feedback. The evaluation stage was conducted formatively through continuous reflection at the end of each session. Despite limited program duration of only six sessions, the Pena Cilik Program at SDN 2 Sokayasa was implemented systematically and proven effective in encouraging students to produce meaningful children's stories.
